ANOTHER APPLICATION TURNED DOWN IN APRIL 2011
It now seems to be an annual event that Mr Williams and his co developers put in an application. This time an Outline Planning Application - low rise buildings but no pub!
Despite the tight timescales over 100 letters were sent to the planning officer and around 98% are against! Many thanks to all who took the trouble to write, campaign and attend the meetings.
And the decision was once again to reject.
Details of the decision can be found on the Vale of Glamorgan website.

Application number 2011/00163/OUT
All three times the battle was fought the Vale Council's Planning Committee and the Welsh Assembly's Planning Inspector fully supported local people's concerns that the loss of the Sea Lawns would be unacceptably harmful to the community of Ogmore-by-Sea.
The developers' game has been to keep putting in applications in the hope that one of them might get passed - all he needs is deep pockets and the hope that the opposition will get tired of the fight.
This cynical tactic does not work! The planning rules are designed to protect local communities from developers who want to make changes for thier own personal profit. We are pleased and grateful that the Planning Committee in the Vale of Glamorgan have consistently upheld these rules. Now we hope that the owner and developers behind the Sea Lawns demolition plans realise that they must look at other options which preserve our community assets and make best use of this unique site.
